As your local RAM truck dealers for the residents of Appleton, Plymouth, and the surrounding areas in Wisconsin, we are here to keep you apprised of the latest industry news. A new RAM model was recently spotted in Detroit while undergoing pre-production testing, and we are excited to share with you what we know so far. Say hi to the 2020 RAM Power Wagon.
This very special off-road model is basically a wagon version of the RAM 2500, and we expect it to come with all the extra trimmings. We were already impressed with the beautiful interior and smooth ride of the 2019 RAM 1500 this year, and if the new RAM model impresses us even half as much, this could really change the game for truck fans who may have previously preferred a competing brand.
Based on the photos, you can expect a similar robust body-on-frame construction in the RAM Power Wagon, but a taller and larger vehicle overall. We’re suspecting it’ll also come with the same off-road-essential features, such as anti-roll-bar disconnect, locking differentials, and an integrated winch.
Current speculations put the engine type as a 410-horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if a more eco-friendly option is added. It’s got style for days with a new hood shape, tail lamps, and bumper in addition to other slight exterior upgrades.
We expect this model to be shown off at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. MSRP pricing on this new model is yet to be determined, and we hope to see it on our lot toward the end of 2019. If you’re interested in purchasing a truck that is currently available, like the RAM 2500, we can help with that, too. Come see us at our car dealership in Wisconsin today!
